Message from the Head Teacher

Welcome to Inglewood Junior School Website. I look forward to meeting you in person if I haven't already, but in the meantime, I hope that this website provides a taste of our vibrant School Community.

Inglewood Junior School has a clear, positive philosophy that “All are valued, horizons broadened and achievement celebrated”. This positive approach ensures that Inglewood provides a happy, safe and secure environment in which your child will thrive and develop intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically, whilst also really enjoying their time at school. Inglewood Junior School strives to deliver a culture of 'Warmth, Drive and Team' and this can be seen in the behaviour of all staff and pupils.

Inglewood Junior School in a happy place where pupils thrive. Learning is interesting and exciting. The range of opportunities available to pupils is broad and varied. As well as a range of before school, during school and after school clubs, children will be offered the opportunity to attend two residential as well as take part in many educational visits linked to the work they are doing.

Inglewood is at the cutting edge of current educational technology. We are an accredited 'Regional Training Centre' for Apple (one of only two in Cumbria) and all children have their individual iPad. IPads are used as a learning tool, to share projects, receive feedback, deepen learning and present work in a variety of ways. Modern learning Apps are also used to reinforce learning and these are shared with home but they are only the tip of the iceberg! 

We are an inclusive school and work very hard to provide the right educational environment for all pupils. We also have a clear behaviour policy which parents and children are aware of. I firmly believe that children should be afforded a safe, nurturing environment where they feel comfortable to take risks, confident to speak out and listened to when they want to give their point of view.
